Check-in and feel good: The new gourmet restaurant of the five-star Hilton Airport hotel at Munich Airport promises culinary highlights, and rightly so!

The young chef Stefan Barnhusen, known for his exciting creations from Hamburg's Jellyfish, now serves a highly sophisticated menu from Tuesday to Friday at Munich's Mountain Hub Gourmet - with a choice of five or seven courses - and was awarded a Michelin star in March 2022.

Whether it's rare skrei with kale and sea buckthorn in a sword scallop broth or black salsify with liquorice and spelt: the courses are highly appealing and arranged with great attention to detail. And - most importantly - the taste is just as convincing as the look.

The starter alone, consisting of three miniature creations (veal tartare with capers, mackerel with parmesan and kohlrabi with parsley), is reminiscent of artistic chocolates that are actually too good to eat. No less tasty and creative: the homemade butter for the still-warm bread selection, which, dyed grey, disguises itself visually as a pebble. Eating as an experience!

The culinary style of the young kitchen is oriented towards alpine influences and relies on regional quality products. Fittingly: The cosy-chic ambience in earthy-green tones with plant walls, cosy fireplace corner and many copper and wooden elements.

In addition to modern haute cuisine and an alpine interior, the service is, of course, also part of the enjoyable experience. "We want to cultivate classic quality directly at the tables again," explains restaurant chef Johannes Gahberger, who previously worked at the top restaurant Bavarie in the BMW World, among other places. This means traditional filleting and carving directly at the table, but also, on request, a cocktail trolley that is wheeled up to watch the mixing live.

Despite or perhaps because of its location at the airport, the Mountain Gourmet Hub is a recommended destination for gourmets who like to travel.
