Emmeramsmühle Beautiful excursion destination with beer garden on the Isar Canal

Historic ambience and modern pub culture: the Emmeramsmühle restaurant in Oberföhring looks back on over 300 years of history. Today, the restaurant on the Isar Canal serves vegetarian and vegan dishes alongside traditional meat and fish specialities. The spacious beer garden is a delightful place to sit in good weather.

Munich's parks offer beautiful opportunities for long walks and leisurely breaks. The Emmeramsmühlein Oberföhring is a particularly nice recommendation for a break in the countryside.

At the beginning of 2024, the Kinner family, together with Munich's Oktoberfest host Michael F. Schottenhamel, took over the traditional house on the northern edge of the English Garden. In addition to the secluded location, the large beer garden with old chestnut trees and seating for up to 500 people promises a pure country idyll.

In bad weather, you can sit in the four different wood-panelled dining rooms inside the Emmeramsmühle. These were renovated in 2023 and feature copper-coloured lamps, comfortable seating upholstery in light green tones and historic tiled stoves.

In addition to Bavarian tavern classics such as roast pork and Wiener schnitzel, the restaurant's cuisine focuses on traditional snack delicacies such as obadza and cheese boards. There are also meat and fish specialities, as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes. Our tip: the Böfflamot from the Simmental heifer from Chiemgau and the crispy fried celeriac schnitzel with roast potatoes.

Regarding drinks, we recommend the tasty Spaten beer and the aperitif "Valentin Secco". Guests can also enjoy specials such as ice cream from Milchhof Miesbach in summer. - The Emmeramsmühle has been serving guests well for centuries and ensuring they have a great time in the great outdoors.
