.How to get there
The fine Syrian cuisine served at the restaurant Kreuzberger Himmel is not only popular with us. Nothing works here without a reservation. That's why selected Syrian delicacies are also available at Himmel 8 in Kreuzberg's Ritterstraße. Here, however, the restaurant manager Marynaia from Syria, focuses on bistro and deli cuisine: mainly wraps, salads and soups.
All dishes are vegetarian or vegan and excellent for takeaway - perfect for a short lunch break or for delivery. That's why there are fewer seats at Himmel 8, but that doesn't make it any less delicious. After all, hummus, babaganoush, mtabal and kishke are prepared at the sister-restraunt Kreuzberger Himmel. The same goes for the homemade desserts - what can we say: heavenly.
The fresh ingredients for the wraps, salads, smoothies and juices are then chopped, prepared and served in Himmel 8 by Yousef, Yazan and Layalee in a way that is worth seeing. Their Syrian bistro cuisine inspires us just as much as the tasteful interior of Himmel 8. The high ceilings are painted green, and black wooden furniture creates a clean and unagitated deli flair.
Our gaze inevitably wanders to the enchanting light installation. The extensive window frontage also provides plenty of daylight. In front of it, bright green seats invite you to linger. We order a mocha and treat ourselves to a few minutes of peace in the midday sun before heading back to work.
By the way: Although Himmel 8 is closed in the evening, the beautiful rooms can also be rented for private purposes.
