.How to get there
It’s been about half a year since Pots opened at The Ritz-Carlton at Potsdamer Platz. Having previously worked in many Michelin-star establishments, the 29-year-old head chef Frederik Grieb and his team certainly know what they’re doing with their modern take on German classics, which they’ve been creating with the full-hearted creative support of the renowned chef Dieter Müller since February. The restaurant’s "sharing concept" gives the classic hotel a contemporary outlook.
Those who love to try a bit of everything won’t be satisfied with a single choice from Pots’ tempting a la carte menu. Melodious dishes like "Purple Mustard Egg" with spinach and chive mash, "Smoked Pork Shoulder" with Ackergold potatoes and apple-horseradish, or the fish stew with delicacies from the North Sea all make the choice very difficult.
We were also really impressed with the current summer menu, which features four-courses matched to wines and an aperitif at an unbeatable price. Host and sommelier Mathias Brandweiner is responsible for the excellent wine selection, and treats guests at Pots to a selection of insider favourites from the German wine scene.
When it’s time to sum up the dinner experience, our review is entirely unanimous: At Pots, you can enjoy a very, very fine meal in a very uncomplicated way!
