Yes, it will be another song of praise for Cocktail Bistro Bonvivant in the Schöneberg district. We were already enthusiastic about their vegetarian evening menu and the bar with its unusual drinks right from the start. Now it's time for a third strike with a weekend brunch that's something to behold.

We were there on Sunday, had possibly our best Eggs Benedict and a non-alcoholic cocktail that would easily pass for dessert. It was accompanied by a crisp salad with delicate flowers, wafer-thin crepes with asparagus and excellent pancakes with rhubarb and white chocolate foam.

We had the "Eggs Benedict" transformed into a gluten-free version with a portion of "Fat New Potatoes" in place of the regular thick slice of sourdough bread, which thrilled us immensely. Above all, the spinach seasoned with cumin was a real highlight in combination with the eggs from Biolandhof Richter and the Hollandaise sauce.

The white asparagus from Syringhof in herb crêpes with sauce maltaise proved to be a fresh summer dish, to which the "Applelada", made from apple juice, coconut- and almond milk, became a brilliant, alcohol-free accompaniment. You can't get more summer than this, even if it's pouring down like during our visit.

In the end, however, the weather called for a soul comforter. Perfect as such: said super juicy pancakes with fresh rhubarb from Demeterhof Weggun. Alternatively, home-baked banana bread or lukewarm cinnamon buns are also fresh from the oven. And don't forget all the wonderful cocktails, with and without alcohol, which also taste good at lunchtime.

For those who want to be healthier: the yoghurt from the Stolze Kuh farm is served with homemade granola and fresh berries, the leaf salad with pickled fennel and mushrooms comes from the Watzkendorf organic market garden. And the sandwich with flowers by Olaf Schnelle, fresh chives, radishes and cucumber should also please the green faction.

From now on, brunch will be served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3 pm. Prior reservation is highly recommended!
