I can say this without envy: Berlin is and remains Germany's fashion capital. I was only recently back there and couldn't get enough of all the super chill street style. The only consolation is that in my München hometown, such an outlandish fashion statement stands out even more amongst all of the pink polos and boat shoes.
Which would work best, for example, with a pair of sunglasses from Viu. The Swiss insider label actually opened its gates first in München and then Berlin. As long as I'm able to, however, I will be checking out the brand's Berlin flagship store on Potsdamer Str.
Because alongside the cool frames, the shop's arrangement made a special impression on me. Whereas the stores of other fashion labels look exactly the same all over the world, Viu stores use the specific qualities of the area in each respective city.
For example, the goal may be to visually extend the house façade to the interior of the shop and to set the Viu sunglasses and spectacles within this scene. Which is why the pattern of the building wall on Potsdamer Str. is reflected inside the store in a similarly patterned wall of green marble.

An impressive four tonnes of the stone from Greece were prepared for the chic presentation area, which feels like a work of art. And why not, when in the nearby Tiergarten primarily galleries showcase their exhibits?
Viu also has small masterpieces to marvel at: the frames are drafted under the management of industry designer Fabrice Aeberhard in the scenic Kreis 4 of Zurich. The Swiss brand have entrusted the fabrication of the eye-catchers to a family-run traditional manufacturer in the Italian Dolomites, where all 80 steps of production are completed by hand.
The results are chic frames, as always available as sunglasses or prescription glasses for men and women alike. And all that for a very fair price, despite- or possibly because of- the sustainable production process, which doesn't rely on any cheap parts from far away.
If you don't live near one of the well worth seeing Viu branches, you can order up to four glasses to try on at home. Or, alternatively, use the virtual Try On feature of the website.
It only remains to hope that the already tentatively approaching summer doesn't make any more backtracks, so you can get the most use out of your sunglasses. Otherwise: vision problems are no longer to be seen as a disadvantage, rather a justification for the purchase of a hot new accessory!
