.How to get there

People who come from another country or have spent time abroad often miss not only the people they have grown fond of there. They also crave typical specialities and, above all, sweets. Luckily, at Sugafari in Prenzlauer Berg, you can at least stock up on the latter and thus feel closer to the land of longing.

Whether Austrians who miss their Tim Tams, Japanophile KitKat lovers, CaramBars addicts (including bad jokes), sugar-sweet Twinkies connoisseurs or Dulce de Leche maniacs - they will all find what they are looking for at Sugafari. The charming and colourful shop offers the most popular sweets from Europe, Asia, Africa, North, Central and South America, from vegan treats, salty nibbles and sugary drinks to a large selection of liquorice and sour specialities.

Alexis and Steffi also run an online shop alongside the sweet shop. The warehouse is located in Pankow, from where a sweets delivery goes to the shop once a week. Not all the varieties available online are always available in the shop. If you want to be on the safe side, it's best to call in advance. Of course, you can also make requests.

"It happens quite often that people specifically ask for a product. Then we pass it on to the warehouse, and they see if we have it or include it in the assortment," says the amiable saleswoman. "At the moment, many people are asking for Takis from Mexico. That was going around on TikTok for a while," she continues. The colourful goods from Japan are also extremely popular, so there is even a whole room for Japanese sweets at Sugafari. "We have some bizarre things from there".

Not only at Christmas, Easter or Halloween, there are also ready-made wonder bags in which you can constantly discover new nibbles. You can also put together your own little bags of sweets. Since the products have to be imported, the prices are sometimes a little higher than in the respective country, but this is surprisingly limited. Especially when the sugar flashes kick in. Every sweet tooth is guaranteed to find just the right thing here.
