.How to get there

High up, on the 14th floor, you can look out over Berlin from Studio 14 - to the radio tower, the TV tower, Potsdamer Platz, Teufelsberg. Make yourself comfortable in a location that is a studio, restaurant, bar, lounge, dance floor and, in summer, one of the most beautiful roof terraces in the city. This is a place to discover.

The magic of a winter's night. The fireplace flickers, the room is filled with lights, and the blue-illuminated radio tower glows in the night sky. The aroma of mulled wine and hot chocolate wafts through the glasses and the hot - and "highest" - currywurst in town is waiting to be eaten.

In addition, the Advent season is foreshadowed in Studio 14 with a crispy and fragrant leg of goose. It's a suitable evening for the 14th floor. For the view over snow-covered Berlin, as far as Teufelsberg and the Olympic Stadium on one side and Potsdamer Platz and the TV tower on the other.

In summer, the magnificent roof terrace of Studio 14 has already made a name for itself. Now, in the cold season, it's time to discover the interior of this still undiscovered place. In the City-West, at the very top of the rbb building on Theodor-Heuss-Platz, opposite the exhibition centre and the radio tower.

The cosy play of colours of Studio 14 can be seen from afar through the large windows, and a lift takes guests upstairs in a matter of seconds. To the Studio 14 restaurant, to the Studio 14 bar, to the Studio 14 rooftop lounge - all combined in one extensive space. A large sign on the roof terrace asks: "Nice here, isn't it?"

Small velvet stools are lined up next to the windows - you can and must be a voyeur here. In the centre, tables and chairs are arranged differently for chatting, eating and drinking. And when the DJs play at the weekend, the tables are quickly moved aside so that people can dance.

Studio 14, a former conference room, has been around since summer 2020. Robert Skuppin, radio presenter and now long-standing programme director at radioeins, came up with the idea of using it for a cultural event to mark an anniversary, holding concerts and readings there.

This gave rise to the Studio 14 concept. A public space, a studio (or production centre), a place for culinary delights and an event location above the city's rooftops. The airline Air France recently celebrated here, complete with a catwalk showcasing the stewardess outfits of recent decades.

As an uninvited guest (even when basketball icon Dirk Nowitzki was present at another event), you don't have to take this personally. You can imagine how the studio's charm on the 14th floor made aviation history even more present when sitting up there yourself, enjoying a meal, a snack with wine, a small menu, a cocktail or a wintery hot drink.

It's also a shame that you can no longer get tickets for the highest New Year's Eve party in Berlin - the event was sold out within two days. The welcome drink with a view, the "rbb Signature Cocktail", is also on the menu almost 365 days around the year the restaurant-bar-lounge is open.

Mixed with Berliner Brandstifter gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup, it is the blackberry liqueur that is wonderfully sparkling, perfect for any time of year. It would also be ideal to stand on the snowy winter roof terrace with mulled wine or hot chocolate - a plan that is currently being worked on.

Meanwhile, it remains cosy inside. The open fire may only flicker on the mega-sized screen, but it also feels a bit real. Currywurst, duck, gnocchi with baked pumpkin and bresaola sandwiches are some of the dishes currently on the menu and being finalised in the small studio kitchen.

The salad with pink duck breast and a fine potato dressing is particularly delicious. And the homemade potato soup is a cosy stomach warmer in the cold temperatures. This gives a further clue to the question's answer: Yes, it's nice here at Studio 14, and not just for the magic of this winter's night.
