Salon Elfi
Schönhauser Allee 73d
13187 Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg
.How to get there

Textile designer Verena Schätzlein has a passion for collecting beautiful things and is the creative head behind Salon Elfi. I met her 7 years ago when she was trying to launch her first collection, flitting from one store to another to find a shop to sell her extraordinary products. The toys and paperware that she presented immediately thrilled me. Today I met her again, not only because I think her assortment of goods is amazing, but also because I admire her commitment to sustainable goods and her social dedication.

After our first meeting, a lot of things have happened at Salon Elfi. Today you can find her collections in various shops all over Europe. The selection of toys has shrunk in favor of paper-and gift items and still you can find the great attention to detail and sense for beautiful colors and material in all of her products. Everything is created by Verena and some series, like the screenprint cards, are produced in her own workshop in Berlin. Other things, also handmade, are produced in small fair-trade shops in India that have been initiated by her, with the UN or the government on site.

Almost every piece is developed on wood-free paper, made of recycled cotton. Every piece has its own character, painted and printed, with strong water based colors. There is so much to discover on boxes, letter cubes, and candleholders as well as on cards and gift sets, that captivate with their character and color. Recently, Verena Schätzlein moved her workshop into a friend’s shop on Wollankstraße. Here you can find the full product range alongside her friend’s purist fashion collection. One more reason to discover Pankow!
