It is far from likely to find anyone, at least in Charlottenburg, who is not familiar with the legendary metal goods store on Kantstraße that has been there for more than a century. Since 1898 it is the prime address for house- and hardware and sooner or later, anyone who lives somewhere in the vicinity of Savignyplatz will eventually end up coming here. Be it because of a new hammer, a piece of chain by the meter or just one particular screw that's gone lost.

At C. Adolph screws, plugs and nuts are still sold individually. Especially those you're desperately looking for. Even if you're just in need of a matching washer, the six employees will search their 40.000 products for you as if it were about putting together new workshop equipment.

Until this day, a drawer cabinet covering the wall serves as an oversized treasure chest that holds gems after gems each single time. Only connoisseurs know their way around it. There are no computers around and the cash receipts are handwritten.

In addition to all hardware, for which Detlef Savary and his guys are responsible, you'll find a fabulous selection of household staples. This is due to Margarit Savary's work. She and her fellow ladies will guide you through finding the perfect pot, knife, scraper or any other kitchen tool that you didn't even know still existed.
