Restaurant Chipps has been around since 2010 and I finally got the chance to experience it myself. Amidst modern new buildings on the corner of Jägerstraße, the restaurant lights up at night like Edward Hopper's Nighthawks. However, instead of a desolate bar you'll find a lively open kitchen in the very core of the room.

Drenched in dainty light, the interior seems to be promising nothing but indulgence and togetherness. The international staff is young and courteous. The menu is compact and, of course, vegetarian. Chipps is open daily from 9 am until late nights, only on Sundays do they close the doors at 5 pm.

The breakfast menu sounds seductive, too, and while compromising their principles with it, the menu actually offers staples such as sausage and bacon and the classic 'Perfect Gentleman'. For lunch, you'll find daily changing menus and various salads. Dinner time is time for more. We had a fruity pumpkin soup with lye crostini and a perfectly gooey risotto with fresh truffles, shitake mushrooms and lemony ricotta made in Kreuzberg. Both were fantastic!

You see, you could spend an entire day at Chipps sitting by the window observing the city's hustle and bustle on the streets and just enjoy life. If only it weren't for this little thing called work calling you back to the office every now and then.
