In the gastronomy scene, vegetarian-vegan cuisine is now considered the new norm. And restaurants that focus on meat specialities are almost exotic. So the Lonely Broccoli, Munich's first Modern Meathouse at Schwabinger Tor, is a welcome development that does not promise any bans but rather aims to promote the conscious consumption of animal foods.

In keeping with this motto - if meat is to be served, then please be regional and from species-appropriate husbandry - chef Matias Coullery from Argentina offers his guests a wide range of different meat and fish specialities whose ingredients come from producers located no more than 80 kilometres away from Munich.

In addition to classics such as burgers and premium cuts, the menu also includes less familiar dishes such as poussin in Jamaican jerk style or an Asian-inspired bánh mì sandwich with meat from Iberico pork.

The open-show kitchen in the middle of the restaurant and the fact that some dishes are flambéed or prepared directly at the table (a dream: the chocolate dessert!!!) add to the experience at The Lonely Broccoli.

If you like, you should definitely try the Surf'n'Turf offer and order grilled prawns with the steak or try the signature tartare together with the wonderfully juicy cedar wood brook trout. Vegetarian meals such as the Greenforce burger, grilled lettuce hearts, braised aubergine and truffle pasta round off the menu. Absolute favourites regarding side dishes: the (lonely) broccoli with smoked almond butter, the truffled mashed potatoes and the lukewarm avocado with fiery chimichurri sauce.

Quench your thirst at The Lonely Broccoli with hip homemade creations such as a Bavarian tequila (just let us surprise you!) or the Broccoli Sour, as well as various first-class wines, competently compiled and recommended by the charming restaurant manager and sommelier Aaron Mrezar.

Another positive aspect is the cosy and appealing ambience. Rust-red sofas, black tables and steel elements combine to create a modern interior in clean industrial chic. In short, the Modern Meat House in the chic Andaz Hotel at Schwabinger Tor stands for creative, contemporary cuisine that makes meat fans and vegetarians alike happy.
