Niu Asian Café Escapism into a pink glitter world

As we all know, pictures speak louder than words. How true, because the interior of the Niu Asian Café in the city centre, which opened at the beginning of 2022, speaks its own language: colourful flower walls, a pink coffee machine, purple velvet sofas, turquoise menus and lots of glitters.

After their first branch in Nuremberg, the two owners, Nici and Tu - hence the name Niu - have now also created a playful and detail-loving feel-good place in Munich with their Instagram-affine café. In addition to the good-mood ambience, visitors can expect exceptional Asian cakes. These are made fresh daily according to the café's own recipe in the bakery on the lower floor.

"We make everything by hand: from the dough and the glazes to the pastes and fillings. Quality is our top priority, and we make sure we use high-quality, low-sugar and natural ingredients," explains Niu owner Nici. Vegan and gluten-free alternatives are also part of the range.

The sweet highlight par excellence, apart from the fluffy chiffon cakes and cheesecakes, is the crêpe cakes. A Japanese dessert classic consisting of several layers of dough and cream. The Venom with Oreo biscuits and activated charcoal is just as recommended as the bestseller, the colourful Rainbow Crêpe Cake.

And to all pink-glitter sceptics: a visit to Niu is a decelerating experience. Escapism from everyday life into a world full of soft colours and kitschy-beautiful things can sometimes be just what you need. Or, to put it another way: "When life gets on your nerves, sprinkle glitter on it!
