Marta Trattoria & Bar Authentic Italian Cuisine in Schwabing

It was summer 2019 when Marta Trattoria & Bar opened at Schwabinger Tor, not far from the Münchner Freiheit. The clean-cut quarter of new builds fits perfectly with owner Fabio Spagna’s motto: only the best ingredients ­– simple, natural, fresh, and handmade – and a modern ambience.

Instead of Italo tearjerkers and white tablecloths you’ll find relaxed pop music, functional wooden tables, cosy velvet sofas, and an impressive twelve-metre-long bar counter made of Italian Carrara marble. Elegant bar stools and fabric-covered XXL lamps by the Munich design duo Seven Elohim round off the chic interior.

Dishes like focaccia with rosemary, vitello tonnato, and pappardelle al ragu are all homemade and shareable. The modern sharing principle gives the restaurant a particularly convivial atmosphere, which more than lives up to the motto "Eating like Italian friends at home".

The pizza is a highlight at restaurant Marta, as its dough is made according to an original Neapolitan recipe and then left to rest for 72 hours. From aperitivo to dolci: at Marta, guests can experience a truly wonderful and welcoming setting and escape to Italy for just a few hours.
