Whether October will bring us the last warm days, we don't know. But who will bring the warmth of Italy into our hearts and stomachs is Tip Berlin, which, together with the delicatessen Viani, is organising its colourful Food Festival from 2 to 8 October at Clärchens Ballhaus and at selected locations throughout the city.
The Tip Food Festival has become a constant in Berlin's gastro scene in recent years. With a mix of exclusive menus in the editors' favourite restaurants, food labs to learn and participate in and a colourful food market, gastronomy can be experienced up close. In addition, talks, expert panels, workshops and cooking shows, moderated by the Tip Berlin editorial team, provide in-depth insights and allow you to meet familiar faces from the Berlin restaurant scene.
During the week, the Tip Food Festival offers dinner menus in five restaurants that interpret Italian cuisine individually. Included are Francucci in Charlottenburg, Futura in Kreuzberg, Il Calice, also in Charlottenburg, To The Bone in Mitte and Zum heiligen Teufel in Kreuzberg. Each restaurant has its own story and, thus, its own festival menu. Due to the different characteristics of the restaurants, these cover a range from pizza and pasta to risotto and meat.
Those who not only want to eat but also expand their knowledge can gain deep insights into the intricacies of Italian food at four food labs at Viani's branches in Schöneberg and Prenzlauer Berg. From 2 to 6 October, you can get to know various high-quality products, their regions of origin, their history and their producers.
From the Vianis product range, the best cheeses and beers of the Alps, the products of the small manufactory Il Mognetto to the high-quality olive oils of the olive miller Paolo Roi, there is much to discover and taste. So the Tip Food Festival weekdays are already filled with a rich evening programme.
