.How to get there

"They stand distraught at Potsdamer Platz. And they think Berlin is too loud. The night glows on kilowatts ... The houses sparkle. The underground roars. They are not used to all this. And they find Berlin too wild" (Translation from German) - Erich Kästner wrote about Potsdamer Platz in the Golden Twenties.

And even if the "visitor from the countryside" found it too wild, too noisy and perhaps too sophisticated, it is still today a place in the heart of Berlin that is as rich in history as it is alive. Then, as now, there was a lot going on here.

Just the right place for the newly designed and opened shopping and entertainment destination, The Playce. Since 15 September 2022, it has been attracting visitors with great stores, unique events and cool shopping and gastronomy concepts. The entire quarter around The Playce at Potsdamer Platz is now celebrating its 25th anniversary - and of course, it's time to celebrate!

On 15 and 16 September 2023, Potsdamer Platz will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a free two-day festival. Its eventful past and the new beginnings and visions of this place will be celebrated then - for example, the first section of the pedestrian zone in Alte Potsdamer Strasse.

A warm-up programme in The Playce on 13 and 14 September will delight visitors young and old. Guided tours through Potsdamer Platz, exciting workshops for children or sports and wellness courses demonstrate the versatility of the quarter.

At the weekend, the excitement continues with an extensive festival programme: After entering the festival through the five-metre-high entrance in bright colours, there are exciting and grandiose news and activities to discover, experience and enjoy at every turn.

From enchanting accessories made by Berlin artist Jill Senft, XXL games, a food market and well-being courses such as yoga and sound bathing to professional styling and a raffle, there is fun for everyone and plenty to discover.

Incidentally, the organising team not only attaches great importance to art, culture and sustainability determining the future of the Potsdamer Platz district, but also to booking female artists for half of the performances.

Highlights of the anniversary festival on Saturday and Sunday are therefore the performances of singer Vanessa Mai and rap stars Megaloh and Aisha Vibes on Marlene-Dietrich-Platz.

It sounds wild indeed, but also super exciting, we think!
