.How to get there
It is a love story: the love of a woman, the love of the French language, French baking and good bread.
In his native Albania, Fatjon Kolici attended the Lycée Français, later studied languages and built up the largest bakery in Central Africa in Cameroon. Today he sells what are probably the best croissants in all of Vienna in his boulangerie L'Amour du Pain. They are so crispy on the outside that they crackle when you bite into them and as airy and soft as a cloud on the inside.
Equally heavenly are the pains au chocolat, brioches and madeleines. All these little delicacies taste of butter and love. There are also fine works of patisserie art - choco-yuzu tarts, tartes au citron, éclairs and millefeuilles - that delight the eyes and palate alike. Not to mention the bread and baguettes, which are in no way inferior to those in France.
The best proof: the many French customers who stock up on baked goods at L'Amour du Pain. Fatjon Kolici himself came to Vienna because of love. So when the restaurant across the street from his flat became available, he jumped at the chance. It took him five years to realise his dream of a French boulangerie.
The effort was worth it: with the elegant black façade and the bistro tables in front of the door, the shop could also be in the middle of Paris. Inside, the first thing you see is the open bakery: Through a pane of glass, you can watch how the dough is rolled out, and croissants are shaped. The production is part of the culinary experience, says the owner.
And because croissants and the like taste even better with a hot drink, L'Amour du Pain naturally also serves delicious coffee and French teas.
