The Zollpackhof is worth a visit for several reasons. Firstly, it has been a popular destination for Berliners since the 18th century - hospitality with history, so to speak. Its hearty Bavarian-Austrian cuisine and the charming beer garden in the shade of a massive chestnut tree do the rest.
Here you can enjoy a draught beer or two in a light-hearted, cheerful atmosphere. You sit directly aside the Spree and in direct sight of the Federal Chancellery. Mrs Merkel has also been a guest here - whether she enjoyed a beer, however, is unknown.
