Tobelhof Countryside indulgence

Tobelhof is a fantastic place for family occasions and celebrations of all kinds. From birthday parties, baptisms to weddings and even business events, the heritage listed old farmhouse provides a wonderful setting. Here everything is just perfect. Indoors there are lovingly decorated rooms, outside a wonderful garden restaurant and playground with an adjoining meadow, where the Scottish Highland cattle graze.

This time I have made my way here for lunch and I am surprised to encounter – alongside younger and older guests seeking enjoyment - numerous businessmen having a meeting accompanied by a delicious lunch under the plantation trees. The ambiance is just lovely: white linen tables under the shade of the trees overlooking the vast green meadow, where some children are at play. So one can enjoy a wonderful, relaxing afternoon!

A traditional, classy cuisine is served. The daily menu offers changing menus, a business lunch as well as numerous classics. There are a wide variety of fine starters and main dishes, where guests indulge to his or her liking - even those who want or need to stick to a lactose or gluten-free diet. And for the little ones and infants, there are a variety of choices – even homemade baby purees are served.

The service is remarkably friendly and attentive. Responsible for this is Marcel Buff, head manager of the Tobelhof and Chäsalp since 1997. In my conversation with him I learn why: values ​​that are nowadays hardly prevalent still apply to him - the personal contact and respect towards the customer. He is very much involved and answers the phone personally. If someone calls, for example, to schedule a baptism, Marcel knows exactly how special this occasion is for the guest. His motto is to "look after the Guest", and he does so with great care.
