Restaurant Buech Relaxing time out on Lake Zurich

Situated high above Lake Zurich in Herrliberg amid an old vineyard, the Restaurant Buech offers traditional country cuisine at a high level.

The scenic ambience in the middle of an old vineyard and in the shade of tall trees allows for pure relaxation - with a lake view. And this has been the case for over 100 years.

The Restaurant Buech, with its wood-panelled rooms, knows very well how to enjoy culinary delights in the midst of this harmonious landscape. Here, the focus is on dishes of home-style cooking with seasonal ingredients and a modern twist, from fresh summer starters such as a colourful salad with fruity nectarines and tomatoes, radishes and sunflower seeds with herb vinaigrette to main courses that are highly refined in their composition with the simplest ingredients.

The salmon dish convinces with Asian flavours with miso and pearl barley, edamame, pak choi and a chilli-beurre-blanc, as does the loup de mer from the oven with wild cauliflower and lemon risotto. Surprisingly different is the rib-eye steak served with a bean cassoulet, accompanied by a grilled potato with mojo verde and café de Paris herb butter. The veal cordon bleu, filled with Mutschli cheese and Herrliberger Bureschinken ham, is served with a lukewarm cucumber and mountain potato salad. Fresh and deliciously hearty at the same time.

Selected wines and sparkling wines from Switzerland and its neighbouring countries, as well as from the Mediterranean region, enjoyably support the exciting menu.

A special offer, by the way, is the hotel's own boat, which departs from the Storchen Hotel restaurant in the middle of Zurich's city centre and finds its way across the glittering Lake Zurich to the Buech restaurant in Herrliberg. This makes a summer day in Zurich feel almost like a relaxing holiday by the lake.
