Unusual, colourful, sweet, Miyuko feels like a doll house - formerly located in Beckenhofstrasse and now newly in Bärengasse in district 1. This is where people meet for "Gnüsser Zmorgä", "Teatime" or "Prinzessinen Kafi Klatsch"! And the new location in the picturesque old town also allows you to enjoy the outstanding and sweet delicacies on a terrace.

Sara Hochuli and her partner have been running Miyuko for over eleven years. Sara is a trained graphic designer but has been baking passinately since she was a little girl. Self-employment always interested her, so after a year as a graphic designer, she started her synthetic hair company Plastikhaar and the design label Ukiyo5.

But as she was still fascinated by baking and creating cakes, she also opened her own café in 2011 and created the female character Miyuko, a namesake for her restaurant. To hone her pâtisserie skills, she took a crash course and learned various techniques, tricks of the trade and how to make cakes.

She has a connection to Manga and Japan through her training at Zurich School of Design. Sara generally likes colourful things, and her tattoos and bright streaks have become her trademark. She quickly made a name for herself far beyond city limits and now counts well-known companies among her customers; even the Rolling Stones ordered cakes from Miyuko for their concert in Zurich in 2014!

And rightly so, we think, because the quality of the pâtisserie is outstanding. You can tell that the ingredients are homemade, and the essential products come fresh from the farm. No additives or flavour enhancers are used in the production in Rümlang.

At Miyuko, pâtisserie means creating fine and artistic desserts. And so Sara presents her café with just as much attention to detail as the delicacies themselves. We opted for "Teatime", where the guest is taken on a tea journey and enjoys an exquisite tea variety with each course.

In addition to Sara's famous scones with whipped cream and fine homemade jams, wholemeal finger sandwiches with various spreads are served, among other things. Incidentally, the entire range at Miyuko is also available vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free or gluten-free.

Sara Hochuli is an enrichment for every city. Her creations are small works of art and are unsurpassed in quality and creativity.
