.How to get there
The Im Viadukt market hall in the middle of Zurich West offers an exhilarating shopping mile. Here, under the 36 arches of the railway viaduct built in 1894, urban flair wafts and offers over 500 metres of trendy shopping shops with creative design, studios and galleries, and exquisite delights. Shopping and strolling, eating and drinking go hand in hand here and complement each other for a stay in a stimulating atmosphere.
The centrepiece is the extremely inviting market hall, where around 20 regional suppliers present their food. Whether a hearty Shepherd's Pie or a fruity Apple Pie from The Pie Shop, rose jam, wood-fired pastries and chestnut cake from Berg und Tal, Zurich's Slow Food specialist, which offers artisanal and sustainably produced food from small Swiss producers. Gourmets will find everything to make them happy here.
The delicate dumplings from Gyoza Yokocho, filled with shiitake or pork, 'corn cheese' or 'slow-braised beef gyoza', are also delicious and satisfy the appetite for Asian snacks. At Cabinet, you can discover fashion from trendy-new to vintage, individual and strikingly different, as well as accessories, furniture and beautiful everyday things.
At Sibler, on the other hand, you will find household appliances of a special kind in the Viadukt branch. Design classics in home accessories, knives and fancy baking utensils, cookbooks and a host of gift ideas enrich the assortment.
And those who need a little time out after extensive strolling and shopping will be well served in the various restaurants in the Viadukt. Whether in the Markthalle restaurant with seasonally changing menus or in Bogen F, the café bar with culture and club atmosphere, where everything is out of the ordinary. In any case, the Viadukt unites the many shops, shops and restaurants into a coherent whole.
