What can be better than staying just a few steps away from Lake Zurich? Zurich is a water city, the lake is an extraordinary attraction and is for many locals a quality of life elixir. No other city in the world has a higher density of public baths. In summer, countless events take place around and on the lake.

19 rooms and a junior suite are found in the Hotel Seehof in Zurich's Seefeld district. The Seehof is not just a chic design hotel, but you gain the essence of Zurich throughout the house. The lake is reflected in the nautically inspired decor. Dark blue combined with white reminds not only of water but also of Zurich's coat of arms. In the junior suite, with its own roof terrace, chic bathroom with free-standing bathtub and separate shower, one can relax sublimely with tea from Al Canton from the Puschlav or a glass of Prosecco from the mini-bar.

The numerous shops and cafes at Bellevue are within a few minutes walking distance, as is the Opera House - one of the best in the world, the current Christmas market facing the Opera House on the square, with people gathered around fire pits drinking hot, mulled wine, delicious street food, local designers selling their wares, and of course, the jogging circuit on the lakeside promenade all making one feel a sense of the holidays.

The numerous business people who stay at the Seehof appreciate the elegant furnishings of the rooms with box-spring beds, especially the working area equipped with international sockets and tablets. Even in the modern bathrooms nothing is amiss, with rain showers and bath care products from Kiehl's, making one’s stay perfect.

One of my personal highlights is certainly the Japanese restaurant Saku with probably the smallest kitchen in the world. Owner and chef are Japanese, which not only gives Saku authenticity, but also makes it very popular with many Asians. I chose the seasonal Obanzai, a variety of small dishes from Kyoto's traditional cuisine.

In the Seehof guests lack nothing, the location and the personal service make every business or city trip a memorable experience!
