Summerbird started out as a small company spending no money on marketing or sales personal but today it’s a huge success with stores all around Denmark. The simple philosophy was from the beginning - only to use the best available locally grown ingredients and an exclusive cooperation with Valrhona chocolate, which is known to be best chocolate quality in the world.
The name Summerbird comes from the company’s first chocolate. This chocolate is still sold and very popular. A small but indeed perfect mouthful in the shape of a Summerbird. My favorite treats are the 'flødeboller' from Summerbird. The soft middle and the crispy thick chocolate are so amazing in combination. You can buy the ‘flødeboller’ in a variety of flavors but my favorite has always been the white chocolate version with passion fruit – yum yum!
Their 16 square meter shop at Kronprinsensgade is definitely worth a visit. I have often enjoyed my guilty pleasures on the bench in front of the petite and charming chocolatier. All chocolate is sold in beautiful designed boxed – perfect to bring home or give to someone special.
