Locations overview

Map (10)

Crispy base, airy crust, fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella - all fresh from the stone oven, so that you feel a little more transported to Italy with every bite. A really good pizza doesn't need much. But somehow it's not quite that simple and that's why it's not so easy to find the perfect pizza.

So we've put together a list of our favourite pizzerias in Berlin. Each of them has its own individual atmosphere: from traditional Italian to minimalist to colourful. But they all have one thing in common: it's all about quality and bringing the original Italian pizza to Berlin. If you're in the mood for something new, maybe you'd like to try the New York Style Pizza.

Whether in the comfort of your own home or, since last week, on a pizzeria piazza like in Italy - even if you don't have a terrace, a handmade pizza like this still tastes spectacular when enjoyed indelicately in the park. Because whether alone or with friends and family, the deliciously topped dough patties simply always work.

Gazzo Sauerteig-Pizza in Berlin-Neukölln-7

Gazzo

Gazzo in Neukölln is all about regional products. Every ingredient comes from the Berlin area, if possible, and if that's not possible, the emphasis is still on sustainable and natural ingredients. The heart of the pizzeria is slowly fermented sourdough from which wonderful pizzas are conjured up. Here you can enjoy a proper feast, Neapolitan style, and at the same time do something good thanks to the sustainable approach.

Standard Pizza Pizzeria Berlin Prenzlauer Berg-3

Standard Pizza

If you want to eat original Neapolitan pizza in Berlin, Standard Pizza is the place to go, because here the art of pizza baking is taken really seriously. All the ingredients used are seasonal, from small producers and, of course, original Italian; handmade tomato sauce from San Marzano tomatoes from the edge of Mount Vesuvius, mozzarella from the Amalfi coast and traditional dough that becomes a wonderfully crispy pizza base after 90 seconds in the oven. The pizza makers manage the balancing act between tradition and innovation with great dedication.

Neapolitanische Pizzeria Prometeo in Schöneberg

Prometeo

Naples in Schöneberg district; Prometeo serves pizza from a real Neapolitan wood-fired oven. The bricks of the oven were made from the ashes of Mount Vesuvius, so the original taste of Italian pizza is easily brought to Schöneberg. There are countless varieties of pizza here, but at Prometeo they place particular emphasis on traditional production and taste. And so it is rumoured that the pizza at Prometeo is actually the best pizza in Berlin.

Pizzeria Malafemmana in Berlin Friedenau

Malafemmena

At Malafemmena, you feel zoomed into Italy right away. There is a large stone oven that immediately catches the eye and Italian is spoken all around: by the waiters, by many of the guests, but above all by the pizza makers. So they have pizza-making in their blood! All the ingredients are also genuinely Italian, so you're immediately in the mood for the wonderful pizzas with fluffy edges and crispy light bases. Malafemmena is the perfect place for a few hours of Naples in the middle of Berlin.

W Pizza in Berlin Neukölln-2

W Pizza

For really good pizza a la Italia, all you need is an original Italian pizza oven and authentic, high-quality ingredients. If that's right, you don't need any unusual, experimental topping variations. True to this motto, W Pizza only offers a small selection of pizzas, but they are worth seeing and, above all, tasting. In addition to the classic Neapolitan dough made from wheat, there is also hemp dough. The pizza itself can also be enjoyed without cheese or as Pizza Bianca - just as authentic as in southern Italy.

Zola Pizzeria in Berlin Kreuzberg

Zola

The pizza from Zola is certainly a familiar name to the Berlin pizza lover. Less well known is the branch in Rummelsburg near the Nalepastraße radio station. Here, too, they serve wonderfully fluffy Neapolitan pizza fresh from the oven. The choice is mainly classics. But their own creation "Pizza Zola" is also very tasty, topped with fior di latte, gorgonzola, walnuts and pears. The absolute highlight, apart from the ingenious pizza, of course, are the seats directly on the Spree!

Ammazza Che Pizza in Berlin Kreuzberg

Ammazza che Pizza

The colourful Ammazza che Pizza has the only pizza oven of its kind in Berlin and bakes wonderfully crispy pizzas. Even if the imaginative design doesn't remind you of a classic Italian pizzeria, the pizzas do. The pizza dough is allowed to rest for up to 48 hours to develop its full aroma and then goes into the oven topped with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is also wonderfully bustling and relaxed at the same time, just like in Italy.

Lula am Markt Berlin Friedenau Pizza

Lula am Markt

At Lula am Markt, too, original Italian pizza is made from sourdough. The sourdough has to mature for at least 24 hours and is then traditionally processed into wonderfully crispy pizza dough. In addition to the classic pizza variations, Lula am Markt offers unusual creations, such as with hummus or avocado. You will also find a selection of vegan pizzas.

Sironi Pizzeria und Bäckerei in Berlin-Schöneberg-3

Sironi La Pizza

The Sironi bakery in Markthalle Neun and recently also in Goltzstraße in Schöneberg district, is one of the best in Berlin. The crusty Italian bread is already legendary; so now Alfredo Sironi is also conquering the pizza scene. At Sironi La Pizza, there are three different types of dough: the classic wheat sourdough, a dough made from spelt flour and, last but not least, one made from 50 per cent Senatore Capelli flour. The latter is used to bake the great square Pala Romana, which is also available in bakeries. All ingredients are of high quality and are lovingly processed into wonderful pizzas.

Magic Johns Pizza in Berlin Mitte

Magic John's

Magic John's offers real New York style pizza, sold in slices, just like in New York City. In the display, you can admire the different pizzas while other pizzas are being topped. In total, there are only six different varieties: classic Margeritha and pepperoni, but also fancy butternut or truffle. If a slice is not enough for you, there are also whole pizzas! But with a diameter of 45 cm, these are perhaps more suitable for sharing with friends or family.
