.How to get there
There are many wines from renowned, long-established families, but hardly any should come from such a world-famous house as the Mouton Cadet, from Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Now Mouton Cadet is presenting its new rosé, developed together with Mathilde Sereys de Rothschild, the Baron's great-granddaughter, in a pop-up at KaDeWe.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild founded the Mouton Cadet range over 90 years ago. His goal was to bring worldwide attention to the wines of the Bordeaux region. In 2020, Mathilde, who studied at the MetFilm School in London and has worked as a director of short films and in theatre, and now runs her own production company, joined the family wine business. Fittingly, she has worked with the company's own oenologists to develop her personal wine, Mouton Cadet x Mathilde.
The light rosé vintage 2022, made from one hundred per cent Merlot, was produced with seven partner winemakers. It is characterised by its shiny pale pink colour, which is just as playful as the label. In simple graphics, the label shows a scene reminiscent of the French southwest coast, as well as Mathilde's signature.
Grown on calcareous and clayey soil, the wine mixes mineral and fruity notes that give it a summery lightness. Notes of redcurrant, raspberry, and pink grapefruit make this fruity-fresh drop ideal for light meals or simply as an aperitif.
From 18 to 29 July, you can get to know the wine at the Mouton Cadet pop-up store in the Sixth at KaDeWe. On 19 July, Mathilde Sereys de Rothschild will be there in person from 2:00pm to 5:00pm to present her Mouton Cadet x Mathilde 2022. We are looking forward to this refreshing rosé to cool down in the Berlin summer heat.
