Fräulein Burger
Koppenplatz 1
10115 Berlin-Mitte
.How to get there
Gastronomic newcomer Fräulein Burger is one of Berlin's nicest burger joints for sure. From the paper napkins to the owner's outfit, everything fits together perfectly. So when I recently entered that trendy little place in Mitte it made me feel a little bit like Michael J. Fox in the first part of Back to the Future.
The ambiance resembles a modern interpretation of the 1950's and immediately puts a smile on your face upon entering. Orders go straight to the counter. All ingredients are organic and homemade until the last drop of Ketchup.
Served in beautiful flat little baskets, the burgers and fries are customizable in any way you want. It becomes obvious that owner Katharina Guntermann has really thought it all through until the tiniest detail.
Flavor-wise, the burgers are alright but not on a par with those at Hamburger Heaven or Zsa Zsa Burger. What I really appreciated though were the hand-cut unpeeled fries and the fact that Fräulein Burger offers lactose- and corn free whole spelt rolls.
If this level of ambition continues, there is no doubt that the burger recipes will be adapted as well, and soon there will be one more place in town serving you the perfect burger. Either way, the little Miss is definitely worth a visit!
