Amazing Crocodile Concept Store for Curated Design

In the interior design concept store Amazing Crocodile at Raumerstraße 23 in Mitte, owner and architect Jana Kubischik presents furniture, lamps and accessories that are not already available everywhere. Unusual individual pieces and charming small series by young, often still unknown designers and artists, whose products she lovingly collects like a curator.

Whether it's glasses, ceramics, textiles or small pieces of furniture, almost everything at Amazing Crocodile has a special twist and usually seems like a fusion of art and everyday objects. The Bochum-born designer, who also plans and furnishes private and public spaces, finds what she is looking for among designers and manufacturers all over the world.

In her small shop and planning office, modern design is mixed with playful objects. Objects by Valerie Objects from Belgium, for example. For the design label, gallery owner Veerle Wenes combines products by designers such as the duo Muller van Severen, Maarten Baas from Holland, Nendo from Japan and the Italian Paola Navone to create a harmonious collection.

The modern furniture of the Berlin label Objekte unserer Tage, which becomes a design highlight with straight lines and clear colours, is also exciting. They are a perfect match for Jana Kubischik's style.

From France, Amazing Crocodile presents the label Petite Friture, whose home accessories demonstrate courage and humour. Ingenious, for example, are the round mirrors into which paint runs like a watercolour. The "Vertigo" lamp stretches its wings far above the ceiling, and a straight-lined sofa with a tray on the side also causes a stir.

Small shelves and coat hooks from the Kolor label shine on the walls like colourful confetti. Trays and side tables by New Tendency swing in and finally draw the eye to the purist table lamps in bright colours by Victor Foxtrott from Hamburg. Everything here puts you in a good mood. So does the fruit made of coloured ceramics that lies on sideboards and tables or even decorates the walls.

Everything at Amazing Crocodile shows courage for colour, shapes and whimsical details. Nothing seems off-the-peg and yet is always perfectly designed. Little things, from pretty matchboxes and an endless selection of wooden necklaces by Ina Seifart to colourful carafes, glasses, bedspreads, and cushions, outdo each other.

Colourful coasters and chopping boards are hung on top of each other to form artistic-looking objects and crockery pieces are grouped correctly to form faces. Amazing Crocodile has everything that gives a home personality.

And by the way, the concept store is also the perfect business card for Jana Kubischik as an interior designer because she also brings all this conceptually assembled into your own four walls. The architect plans houses, flats and even individual rooms in her unmistakable style.
