This past week I began hunting for the first Christmas presents, starting in the Bikini Berlin concept shopping centre and its ever-changing box boutiques, pop-ups, and permanently integrated stores. The highlight of my visit this time: the form design pavilion on the upper level. It’s not everywhere that I’ll find so many uniquely beautiful and high-class products in one place.
But like I said, that’s my highlight. The nice thing about Bikini Berlin is that everyone can make their own discoveries here. For someone else it may be the fashion concept store LNFA that presents a host of Berlin designers, or for the younger among us the one-piece shop right next door dotted with ultra-hip overalls. Or maybe it’s one of the many other various stores filled with special designs, fashion, and technology. It’s impossible to name them all.
Since last Thursday there’s yet another reason to go to Bikini Berlin: the unique designs market, curated in cooperation with DaWanda and showcasing a rotation of small handmade lines every week from Thursday to Saturday, sometimes extending to Sunday, through the fourth advent. From jewellery and paperwork to accessories and delicacies, it’s a true Eldorado for Christmas shopping!
Your physical wellbeing is naturally also taken care of. During Christmas time on the piazza and rooftop terrace— where you can also try your hand at Bavarian curling on a 16-meter lane— wooden huts offering ranges of culinary products are set up alongside the current vendors. From pastrami sandwiches made by Mogg & Melzer, pulled pork at Gorilla Barbecue, or an oyster and champagne bar, to classics like Dresden Christstollen, mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts, your stomach will be well provided for.
