Ten years ago, Edda Binné took over Stoffkontor from the shop’s founder Jenny Brodersen. Now, they’ve moved into a sensational new location on ABC-Straße in the city centre. That means there’s even more room for bedding, robes and sleep wear, which are made with such irresistibly soft materials you’ll instantly fall in love with them.

Bedding materials, too, are all based on original designs and are exclusively woven in Portugal and Turkey for Stoffkontor. Later, fabric-covered buttons are applied on the outskirts of Berlin, and just a little further on, they are packed inside their covers, ready to be presented on the shelves of Hamburg’s retail hotspots.

On average, we spend about eight hours a day in bed, so the choice of which fabrics we should let near our skin isn’t unimportant. The same goes for pyjamas, with sleepwear brands like Sunday in Bed, Yellamaris, Pluto and Cornelie Weiss making hearts beat faster. Towels and bath mats come from the Italian brand Fyber Carrara, or in a unique quality from Uchino out of Japan.

And if you’re not in Hamburg, Stoffkontor has got an online shop. But it’s even more fun in the shop, when you get the chance to browse the shelves and try on the handmade slippers, which are exclusively made in Germany, and to feel the fabrics as well as chat with Edda Binné and her fantastic team in person.
