.How to get there
You can peak into the open kitchen from nearly any table at Lila Nashorn to watch chefs Michael Köhn & Alexander Bachmann work their food magic. This visit, neither our first, and certainly not the last time for us, held a surprise menu accompanied by funky 70s soul music.
Beef carpaccio with baked sushi and sesame vinaigrette set the start. The meat was tender as can be, the sauces were delicate and nuanced. Scallop and pork belly shashlik with smoked bell pepper followed. The crunchy belly went perfectly with the scallop and the smokey notes.
We went on to have spined loach and a prawn duet on sweet peas. This highlight was succeeded by Iberico ham and duck on red cabbage purée, chestnut and porcini. What a perfect combination to get you into just the right kind of mood for autumn!
The grand finale was the sweet Lila Pause – a dessert variation, mandatory really, consisting of crème brulée and crème brulée espuma, homemade ice cream, a mini slice of pie and a heap of fluffy chocolate mousse!
The two chefs’ passion will definitely win you over if you see them work. In addition, Michael Köhn and Alexander Bachmann really put an emphasis on regional products as well. Their menu is expanded on weekdays by a daily changing lunch offer which comes along both tasty and affordable. Their small service crew does an impeccable job, too, and you can trust their every recommendation blindly.
