All secret and silent, Hotel Stue finally opened after a seemingly infinite construction period. Situated right by Tiergarten with a view on the Berlin Zoo, the hotel offers 80 rooms and suites, the outstanding restaurant 5 and one of the coolest bars.
Impressive yet very intimate, soon it will surely be among the leading hotels of the city, and artists, actors and individualists of any kind will arrive in masses. The décor varies from each room to the next while the main focus in both, the rooms and the public areas, was to create a casual yet elegant homey feeling.
There's a stylish little pool in the basement, the sauna and a Susanne Kaufmann Spa. For us Berliners the most interesting and positively surprising addition to nightlife between East and West Berlin is the hotel bar of course. Designed by the man behind Bar Tausend, this new spot could potentially become the new place to be.
Within the following months, events will start taking place, but it's definitely worth a visit before that too. Even just to try one of their unusual signature drink creations, have a bison burger or to just plain enjoy the breathtaking ambience of the restaurant and the bar.
I'm personally looking forward to summer at Stue. Because that's when the view over the different vivariums will outdo all other views. Or do you know of any other bar where you can watch ostriches while sipping on your Gin Fizz?
