An enthusiastic girlfriend, with a passion for Korean cuisine, suggested I go to Kochu Karu. And in fact, what I was served on an uncharacteristically early spring day, was really excellent. Their specialty is Korean tapas, created by the owner - a Korean opera singer - and her husband - a Spanish chef. This is truly fusion cuisine, prepared mainly from organic and local ingredients. From this fusion is born such exciting things as 'Tender calamari salad with chorizo, peas and watercress Cho Gochujang sauce' or 'Grilled Corn tortillas with spicy pork in sesame soy glaze'. But the classic Kimchi is not missing from  the menu and it too tastes wonderful. Of course there are also full entrees and my beloved green tea with roasted rice. Truly heavenly, however, was the dessert! A small cake made with white chocolate and a compote of dried figs. That alone is worth the journey here! In the coming weeks, a bistro with sweet specialties, such as the mentioned cake and Korean tea is planned to open in an adjoining small shop. - This is sure to be a hit!
