Do you know the DZ Bank building between the Adlon hotel and Brandenburger Tower, right on Pariser square in Mitte? If you don’t, then you’re probably not aware of the architectural pearls hidden inside, like the surprises waiting behind your advent calendar doors.

The "Sky Lobby" can be found in the building’s atrium, designed- along with the rest of the otherwise rather puristic structures- by star architect Frank O. Gehry. Its form, a one-of-a-kind mould, gives the impression of an undersea creature gliding through the expansive building. Concealed from the public, like life on the sea floor.

The area is only actually open to staff and attendees of conferences and conventions, which the atrium can be rented out for. Which is why we were beside ourselves when we heard that a pop-up restaurant would give a guest performance in the spectacular lobby during Advent.

The temporary restaurant will be open from December 8th-22nd, 2017. Regardless of events, small groups and individual guests alike will have the opportunity to experience the special architecture and location, as well as the cuisine and service at Axica. At eye level with the Berlin Quadriga and Reichstagskuppel!

The "Sky Lobby", with its huge glass facade, will be transformed into an atmospheric winter wonderland and André Steuer and his kitchen team will serve a Christmas-y alternative to the obligatory roast goose, whereby a vegetarian option will also be available. This naturally includes paired wines.

The Christmas pop-up restaurant can be booked for individual guests, groups, and even exclusively for up to 80 people. For further information on the menu and the online booking tool, visit the Axica website >>

We won’t let this pass us by!
