Searching for a beauty spa with professional English-speaking therapists? At Pure Beauty Spa, not only do they have an excellent command of English, but they also speak Greek. The sisters Georgina Axis and Alexandra Georgiou are UK trained and bring a special mix that they owe to their Scottish and Greek roots.
Alexandra has had 20 years' experience in the beauty industry, already managing top spas in Scotland, before she opened her first beauty salon together with her sister Georgina in Greece 15 years ago. They opened Pure Beauty Spa at Zollikerstrasse 82, two years ago, after relocating from Greece to Switzerland.
Now, in Zurich's Seefeld, the two beauty professionals beautify their clients with international brands such as Elemis, Opi, Cnd Shellac, Jane Iredale, Lycon, to name but a few. Many of these brands are largely unknown to us in Switzerland but they are specially selected due to their excellent benefits.
Their treatment menu is extensive. Everything you can think of from basic beauty staples like a good eyebrow shape to advanced laser treatments and facials. Even if you only wish to pamper yourself with eyelash extensions, a manicure or facial treatment, the sisters consider the customer as a whole and treatments are very much adapted to suit the individual client. In my case, they duly noted that my skin was dehydrated after a week long beach holiday and my back was very tense so my treatment was tailored to me accordingly.
The remedy I experienced was one of their Signature Treatments, "The Pure Indulgence". This consisted of a thirty-minute relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage, and a ninety-minute facial. I was led into one of two treatment rooms. Over a cup of tea Alexandra explained the products she would use during the treatment. Then I luxuriously indulged in the massage with Frangipani Monoi Body Oil by Elemis. During the facial I was again sent through a fragrant journey of papaya enzyme peel and a tingling cleansing mask of mint and lavender compresses. Two hours later I saw the result in the mirror - my face was radiant like never before!
According to the sisters' motto, those who visit the Pure Beauty Spa should feel happier after wards and for me this absolutely rang true. So I immediately made another appointment, for a manicure. As well as beauty treatments, they regularly host events and pamper parties and for monthly special offers that are too good to miss, sign up via their website. Incidentally, for all our Creme Guides readers, the sisters are offering a 20% discount on your first treatment, just quote Creme Guides at time of booking. So go for it - parking is available at the front of the house, and conveniently, the bus 33 stop 'Botanischer Garten' is just across the road. This makes the journey comfortable and easy.
