It's been a while now since I'd been informed by a friend about the opening of a children’s secondhand boutique Süssigkleid. And although I repeatedly need new clothes for my little ones, it took a while until I finally visited the thrift shop of French Gwen Deborde. Too long, it turned out, as on my first visit last week I realized Süssigkleid as a nice secret-tip for mums who can't resist French charm. Her shop is a lovely boutique, located between Römerhof and Klusplatz, where quality second hand children's and maternity clothes, in particular French brands, as well as pretty gifts and accessories for the young ones can be found.

As I rummage through the shelves, I discover a quaint dress by Catimini, a chic boys blue-green plaid shirt from Bonpoint, an adorable dress by Stella McCartney and a matching merino cardigan from Oeuf. On another stand are numerous pyjamas and bodysuits from Jacadi, Petit Bateau and Tartine et Chocolat.

To my surprise, Gwen tells me that she has already expanded the recently opened store. Curiously I go down the stairs to see the newly extended part of her boutique. The lower level of the shop reveals a number of other great finds from maternity clothes to clothes for four to ten years, and a few sporting goods. Among them a great dark blue ski suit from Moncler, down jackets from Bogner, Poivre Blanc and Pyrenex, numerous ski and rain pants, Stöckli skis, and sleds.

With the ski season already in mind, I decide to take a warm jacket or a snowsuit for my youngest. The selection was abundant and I was also convinced to take a green down Benetton jacket in flawless condition. Incidentally, Gwen told me that her incentive for selling secondhand goods was in connection with the UN Climate Change Conference. Wow, I think. She is quite right. This can also make a contribution. Now I feel twice as better with the purchase of the jacket.

On the way to the cashier, I notice the pretty accessories by bébéjewel, Happiiies and Schmuckzauber, which Gwen has included in her range. Under the motto "design from your town", she is constantly on the lookout for new, local designers who have made a name for themselves in Zurich with pretty, self-made products. Another reason to visit this delightful store again!
