Platzhirsch Hotel and Bar A hotel and a bar with many facets

Nestled in the historic part of the city - the Niederdorf - is the hotel and bar Platzhirsch. Those who would consider it to have a rustic Alpine-style ambience would, however, be deceived. Platzhirsch is urban and extremely multifaceted, due to the cleverness of owner of Sigi Gübeli. She opened Hotel and Bar at the end of 2010 and brought new life to the Hirschenplatz.

Early in the morning around seven breakfast is already being served to early-rising guests in the bright and modernly designed bar. This includes not only the hotel guests, but also many neighbours as Platzhirsch has become a local favorite hangout. Some come in the morning to enjoy their coffee or cherished Chai Latte, others around noon for a focaccia or Flammkuchen.

Lovers of coffee with cake or, more recently, those addicted to the popular green smoothies and frappes gather at Platzhirsch in the afternoon. Especially recommended, by the way, is the 'Fuatscha da marruns', a gluten-free chestnut cake in a glass, which comes from the acclaimed Meier-Beck bakers of the beautiful Val Müstair.

The bar quickly fills in the evenings for after work drinks, with guests and visitors attracted to diverse events. Live jam sessions, wine and whiskey tastings, and private exhibitions all happen here. Reflecting her spirit, Sigi supports individuality and versatility. Open-minded towards smokers she has a most beautiful fumoir, where one can contemplatively enjoy a cigar.

With all this, Platzhirsch has attained numerous awards such as 'Summer Hot Spots 2011' and 'Best of Swiss Gastro 2013'. The individual needs of guests are also addressed in the hotel, characterized by individuality without stars. Rooms are fresh, bright and modern. Amenities such as pillow menu, wifi, magazines, bathrobe and slippers, and a coffee maschine are provided. As are the free soft drinks in the mini bar. Everything the modern business nomad needs. My next visitor won’t need to look further!
