Feinjemacht - The Best of Berlin and Brandenburg
Christiane De Filippo and her husband Filipp have prepared. Their online shop with hand-picked specialties of the region has only been launched three weeks ago and is successfully keeping up with current trends. The homemade movement is everywhere, and everything from chutneys, sirups, jams or even pesto to charcuterie and sweets is being made from the best ingredients and with lots of love.
‘Feinjemacht’s mission is to offer a platform for all the good things. Because after years of work in the business, during which they came close with the otherwise brutal food industry, Konstanz native Christiane and Filipp, a genuine Rhinehessian were determined to initiate a deceleration project. And so they gathered the best of what Berlin and Brandenburg’s producers have to offer and are now making gourmets happy countrywide.
Even I could find something unknown to me before and immediately placed an order of Essigart’s Prune Confiture with Cardamom and Cinnamon as well as a flask of their Sour Cherry Vinegar. Being the ginger addict that I am, my favorite gift set is the Ginger Bell Box. It contains chutney, sirup and chocolate, all made with ginger. A good reason to make it the father-in-law’s christmas present, since he’s into ginger just as much.
A small selection of Berlin designer Katy Jung’s ceramics are also available and so it happened that a set of oil lamps that goes by the beautiful name of ‘Immerlicht’, which translates to ‘everlight’, ended up in my shopping cart as well. I could’ve sworn that something like this would never enter my household. But these lamps, shaped like the simplest white candle, are so far from any of the conventional ones you know that I gladly went against my decoration principles. They’re placed right by the window now, withstand every wind gust and have furthermore proven to be the ideal placeholder for the drafty spot above the radiator. No spilling, no dripping! We love!
