I always find it so fascinating to study the history of Danish design icons. Every piece has it’s own personal story of craftsmanship, design and unique details. Simple and functional design will last a lifetime. I have just inherited my beloved grandmother’s old coffee table my dad once crafted for her. The table tells a unique story and has been in my family for years but most importantly - it’s so beautiful. To match my new table I wanted a piece of furniture that has the same simplicity.
Let me introduce you to 'Brdr. Krüger' the 5th generation of a family owned company with a passion for wood and eye for design of timeless pieces for the past 125 years. Brd. Krüger is a story of a company that has managed to adapt traditional design of their tray table, made 50 years ago, to the life we live today. The functionality and simplicity is everlasting but with the new color scale you have a piece of furniture that matches the color themes of modern Scandinavian living.

Their tray table is so usable and I’m so in love with the soft pastel colors. I went to Illums Bolighus the other day to view their tray tables and I just knew I had to bring one home once I was in the shop. Once you have made your choice of wood you have to choose what color of tray you want. You can mix the colors of the two trays and you can also flip them to reverse the color. To be honest I actually brought home two new tray tables for my newly renovated sunroom!
You can buy the tray tables in different heights so they fit beneath each other. Together they make one great coffee table and separately you have two cool tables for liquor, books or what else you may desire. Once I’m gone to heaven my kids will have a table each from our home. It’s not that I plan to be dead any time soon but I know that my two new tray tables will last a lifetime so I like the idea of beautiful design that will be inherited for generations like my grand mothers coffee table.
