SPAZIO Corsivo - Italien Books and Design
SPAZIO Corsivo is a shop in Prenzlauer Berg. I found out about it just because yesterday it was pouring with rain and I was looking for a place to shelter. My choice proved lucky as what I found there and by chance were authentic, little treasures. Postcards, notepads, prints of all sorts – all beautifully designed – many of which were silkscreen prints. On top of this, RAUM Italic also offers designer’s objects such as vases, jewellery, bags all in a way linked to Italy as created by Italian creative talents.
I was particularly attracted to the selection of children’s books. Many of these publications are available in Italian and in English too. Some are new editions of old classics from the 40s. But there are also new and unabridged titles, all of them carefully designed. Most of these books are published by Corraini Edizioni. I could have rummaged, flicked and read for hours, but my dinner plans dragged me out of the shop, still leaving many things to see.
SPAZIO Corsivo regularly presents many Italian designers and authors and a Christmas exhibition will open next week. There are therefore many good reasons to go back as soon as possible. And, anyway, I already know where I am going Christmas shopping for my nieces this year. They are going to love these books!
