"Berlin is so much better than that!", was the idea that got the three of/Berlin founders going. Instead of a well-laid out concept store, mass-oriented souvenir shops have opened up throughout the city taking the chance to take something truly memorable home with you. Those who have tried to improve the situation in the past were forced out of business just as quickly as they popped up.
Thankfully, Karoline Ahner, Catrin Soldo and Vesna Zaneta have taken matters into their own hands. Their website of/Berlin provides you with the little things, beautiful objects and memorabilia designed and made in Berlin, ready to be shipped out worldwide.
The project is a heartfelt matter: bringing together designers, workshops and consumers, telling stories and taking a piece of it home with you to make it last. Also available are various design tours that take you through the studios and workshops of cooperating designers.
The three businesswomen met while working for a large Berlin interior design specialist, realizing they all had a thing for aesthetics and good design. „Through of/Berlin, the spirit of the city is rendered palpable“, Catrin Soldo and Vesna Zaneta tell me during our interview at our Creme Guides Home Office.

Their product range, currently encompassing young classics such as Belyzium chocolate, Our/Berlin vodka or Berliner Brandstifter gin, as well as fashion, jewellery and perfumes, is expanding rapidly. Products by well-known traditional Berlin brands are scheduled to join the group of new designers soon!
From September 1st on throughout the month, there will be a pop-up store on Graefestraße 65, in close proximity to Anna Durkes, Hamburger Heaven and Spindler. During this time, you'll have the chance to see, touch and feel the entire of/Berlin selection up close.
A good chance to think of the upcoming holiday season a bit earlier this year – and make sure to pass the cue together with a link to their website! You see, there is not a single reason left to continue the ineffable habit of passing out Berlin walking figure gummy bears to our friends at home.
