Mutter Fourage – A Green Oasis
Even if the weather this week suggests otherwise, I am sure we will have a couple more late summer days this year. With this in mind, I quickly want to recommend a lovely spot to have your last cups of coffee under the open sky.
Despite the fact that Mutter Fourage has operated for more than 30 years, it's still quite the secret tip. Situated somewhat off the beaten track in Wannsee, it's one of the nicest oases the city has to offer. The complex, constructed in 1900 and former home to a feed mill, is second to none with its lush green surrounding.
Classic garden furniture, auburn parasols and countless flowers, surrounded by beautiful brick walls - the perfect destination for a quick getaway from the big city. Organic bakery Tillmann caters to your culinary needs with an abundance of delicious cakes and quiches, along with breakfast à la carte and a lunch menu changing ever so often according to seasons.
A small organic grocery store, a nursery and exhibition spaces complete the area. Established artists as well as promising newcomers in music, performing arts and literature regularly impress the audience, while the season's highlight will always be the summer night concerts in the old barn.
A very charming day trip destination - the only thing missing is the sun these days. You can find a second Fourage inside the Liebermann Villa, which is definitely worthwhile too!
